Welcome and Thank You!

We would like to welcome and thank you all for taking the time and interest in our blog which is designed to allow everyone to stay abreast with everything that is going on with what is sure to be a very busy and joyous time in our lives. We intend on keeping this as up to date as necessary with the kind of information (cliche included) that would interest all of you. The more participation, the better, so feel free to ask questions or make comments and we will respond as quickly as possible. Both of us will be adding posts and responding to comments. I'm sure it will be fairly easy to determine who wrote what based on the "lingo". Thanks again and we look forward to hearing from everybody.

Nursery Pics

Today Mason's furniture was delivered.  I had never actually seen the pieces we ordered in person so I was a little nervous about it being exactly what we wanted.....I LOVE IT!  It looks great in his room.  We are still waiting for the glider chair to be delivered but that won't be till sometime in January. Right now we just have the crib and changing table unit.  After the holidays are over we will start decorating!!!  Below are pictures of the pieces we got today.  Also, Kurt hung his name on the wall....Nice job Babe!!!

Things have still been going great! We have had a busy couple of weeks traveling around NC. This past weekend we had a few holiday parties which were lots of fun. The baby has been really active the last couple of weeks. Right now he is only a little "papaya" but he can sure move around.  I am not looking forward to the months he is a "watermelon" bouncing around in there!

I am pretty sure he is going to have eating habits just like his parents.  LOL.  I was traveling last week for work and accidentally ate some mustard on a chicken pita for lunch one day.  For those of you that know me well, I am sure you are thinking "how did she eat that without vomiting?" Well, I felt like crap the rest of the afternoon and the baby was kicking around a lot.  It was the first time this whole pregnancy that I actually didn't feel good. I think it was Mason's way of telling me he would prefer his sandwiches with NO CONDIMENTS!!!!

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Beginning of the Nursery

I am now almost 20 weeks along - half way there - Woooohooo! I think I have started to feel the baby move but since this is my first experience I am not really sure if it is him or not.  With the holidays right around the corner we have started planning the nursery as we will be really busy with family and friends the next couple months. The last couple weekends we had the bedroom painted. It turned out great!  Here are some pictures of what it looks like before the furniture.

His name will eventually be hung on the wall once we get the furniture in there.

Since we haven't mentioned our first baby on the blog yet I figured I would add a picture today since it is his 2nd birthday!  Happy Birthday Smitty!!!!

It's A Boy! Mason Jordan Johnson!

It's official, Baby "J" is a boy! As a father of course, I am extremely excited about having a son to carry on the Johnson name. Obviously, Jackie is too, although her friends and family had her convinced she was having a little girl. The Johnson side of the family is especially excited because the last 6 children have been girls and a baby boy will be a nice change for the male cousins. I was able to get a little shopping done today after we found out the gender and as one might expect, the outfits involve drinking and MJ23. These are a couple of them. Look out ladies, there's a baby Kurt on the way...

Baby J's First Outfit

Of course no child of mine will go without some Yankee gear.  The Braves outfit retired along with Bobby Cox last night.

A Li'l "J" On The Way!

So Jackie and I have some crazy, yet exciting news. Jack is Prego! Talk about a life altering experience. I am going to have act my age (almost 30, let's not talk about it) and exit my prime now. While that may be difficult for some of you to accept, most of you (family) are excited to hear it. The last 29 years have been a FOOL and now it's time to wind it down. Don't frown too much, I'm not getting ready to be a "lame" or anything like that, just not a 21 year old stuck in a 29 year old body. Anyway, Jack is 14 weeks pregnant and her and the baby are doing great. We just heard the healthy heartbeat a little over a week ago. Jack is due on April 14th and we hope to find out the sex on November 12th, that is of course if the little one is willing to show us his junk or her lack there of. We have juggled a few names for both genders around, but will wait to expose them until one of us can convince the other to agree on the name. With that being said, if it's a boy I'll probably win but if it's a girl, I'll probably lose. Jackie and I hope you will continue to check in with us as we will have up to date news and events and could use any advice, suggestions and comments you may have for a couple of excited rookie parents. Holla Back!
